Friends of SOMArts,

When you visit the gallery at SOMArts, you may not notice it. It’s just a hole in the ground–– a former sand casting pit and a remnant of the building’s industrial past. But this Saturday, January 4, 2014, 5:58pm–midnight, thanks to the creativity of more than 150 Bay Area time-based artists, “The Hole” transforms into the site of something truly special: a 6-hour marathon of radical self-expression and experimentation.

Get your tickets to 100 Performances for The Hole and discover 100 edgy, grotesque, dirty, gentle, funny, confusing, humble, exhilarating, explosive, and rebellious 2-minute performances. There’s a limited number of VIP tickets with beer sponsored by Ninkasi Brewing and discounted ticket options for students, working artists & others on a budget.

We hope you’ll join SOMArts in welcoming in a new year of art that is culturally engaged, deeply social and political, and thrillingly experimental with this unique spectrometer for time-based art! If you’re out of town, you can still tune in–– performances will be broadcast live on San Francisco’s public access station SF Commons (Comcast Channel 76, Astound Channel 30) and will stream online here.

Happy new year!
